In an interview with Chude, Thomas said the incident occurred around midnight, leaving everyone on set in a state of fear.

“They first heard loud banging and people shouting outside,” she explained. “We tried to stay calm and figure out what was happening, but it soon became clear that danger was very close.”

In panic, the cast and crew knelt and prayed while trying to stay safe indoors. As the commotion intensified, armed men broke into the room, demanding Funke Akindele step out. When confronted with the threat, Funke bravely moved forward.

The attackers then took her outside, leaving the rest of the group terrified and unsure of what would happen next. Thomas revealed that she later heard Funke singing lines from Omo Ghetto under duress, even dancing, while the attackers held her.

Gunshots rang out shortly after, heightening the panic. Funke eventually managed to run toward the generator area, where an injured security guard helped her by providing something to cover herself.

The ordeal finally came to an end, and Thomas reflected on how dangerous the situation had been, expressing gratitude that everyone survived.
