Speaking in an interview on Channels Television on Friday, Baba-Ahmed urged former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to reconsider his 2027 presidential ambitions.

According to him, Atiku has been vying for the presidency since the time Baba-Ahmed was serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). He stressed that it is time to allow the younger generation to occupy the political space and contribute innovative solutions to the nation’s challenges.

“When I was serving in NYSC, Baba Atiku was already aspiring for the presidency, and in 2018 we contested primaries together. In 2023, I ran as a vice-presidential candidate while his vice president had left him. And now, in 2027, again?” Baba-Ahmed questioned.

He added, “Nigeria needs a new generation of leaders, and they exist. There are capable Nigerians ready to solve the country’s problems, but they are discouraged by an expensive, difficult, and treacherous system full of godfathers and unkept promises. What is needed is a leader who can rally this new generation to fix Nigeria’s challenges.
