The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has clarified that he cannot intervene in the ongoing dispute between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his former political mentor, Nyesom Wike.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television on Tuesday, Yilwatda explained that the feud falls outside his jurisdiction because Wike belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Fubara is an APC member.
“When it comes to the issue between Wike and Fubara, it’s not within my purview as APC National Chairman. Wike is in PDP, Fubara is in APC,” he said.
He added that the impeachment matter currently unfolding in Rivers State concerns only APC lawmakers in the state House of Assembly, which is under the party’s control.
“The issue of impeachment is about APC members of the House of Assembly. That is something we can discuss internally. It’s an internal matter, and we have mechanisms within APC to handle it,” Yilwatda noted.
The APC chairman stressed the importance of discretion and maturity in resolving party affairs, saying, “We don’t air these discussions publicly. Matters can be settled through internal processes that require maturity. Wike is not an issue for APC.”
