The Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, has alleged that certain individuals are spreading false information about him to elder statesman and former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Danjuma (retd.).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Kefas made the allegation while receiving traditional rulers from Wukari, his hometown, during a solidarity visit at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo.

He dismissed reports suggesting a rift between himself and Danjuma, stressing that their relationship remains strong, stable, and intact.

The governor’s comments come amid months of political speculation claiming a breakdown in ties between the two influential Taraba figures, a rumour that has stirred uncertainty over the state’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

While welcoming the delegation, Kefas thanked them for the show of support and expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to lead the state.

“I thank God for the privilege to govern Taraba State and for broadening my perspective beyond Wukari. Leadership must be inclusive. Taraba is home to more than 80 ethnic groups, and each deserves quality governance,” he said.

Kefas also praised General Danjuma for believing in his leadership and supporting his emergence as governor, noting that the retired general remains confident in his vision and capacity to lead.

“Some people go to General Danjuma to speak against me, but he knows me far better than they do,” the governor said. “As a soldier, he understands discipline, capacity, and leadership, and he is not swayed by those spreading falsehoods about me.”

The governor further called on residents to register in large numbers with the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing party affiliation as essential for attracting federal support and development opportunities to the state.

“We must mobilise for the APC. Aligning with the centre brings clear benefits, and Taraba will continue to gain from it,” he added.
