Breaking: Masari Takes Over APC Convention Committee From Uzodimma

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed former Katsina State governor Aminu Bello Masari as the new Chairman of its National Convention Central Coordination Committee, replacing Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The announcement was made in a statement signed by APC National Secretary Surajudeen Basiru and shared on the party’s official handle on Friday.

“In further consultation with the leadership and national stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention has been reconstituted,” the statement read.

Governor Uzodimma, who had initially been named committee chair, has now been reassigned as Treasurer following the reconstitution approved by APC leadership.

The reshuffle also expanded the committee’s membership from 73 to 90, adding prominent party figures, including Senator Barry Mpigi and other senior stakeholders.

Under the revised structure, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim was appointed Vice Chairman I, while Kwara State Governor and Nigeria Governors’ Forum Chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq will serve as Vice Chairman II. Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni retained his position as Secretary of the convention committee.

“Sub-committees of the Central Coordination Committee will be constituted and announced in due course,” Basiru added.

The shake-up comes just days after Uzodimma was initially named chair of the 73-member planning committee, ahead of the party’s March 27–28 convention, where new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are expected to be elected.
