The Nigerian midfielder joined Coventry from Brentford in January and could feature for the Sky Blues when they take on Oxford United at 4 p.m. today, February 7.

In an interview with the Coventry Telegraph, Lampard highlighted the unique qualities Onyeka brings to the midfield.

“He offers a different dimension and profile compared to the midfielders we already have,” Lampard said.
“As I mentioned, his profile adds options and increases competition in the middle of the park, which is valuable for us.”

In other news, Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been named Nottingham Forest’s Goal of the Month for January. He earned the award for his impressive strike in Forest’s 2-0 win over Brentford.

Awoniyi’s goal came late in the match when he received a pass from Morgan Gibbs-White, drove into the box, and calmly finished past goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

The goal marked the 28-year-old forward’s first of the season for the Tricky Trees and was chosen ahead of seven other nominated strikes. Awoniyi has made limited league appearances this season as he continues to regain full fitness and consistency.
