The governor made the remark on Tuesday during an inspection of ongoing projects across the state.
Speaking on the progress of the projects, Fubara expressed confidence that they would be completed by October, noting that adequate funding and sustained commitment were key to meeting the deadline.
“From what we have observed, significant progress has been made, and the contractors have assured us that the project will be delivered by October this year,” he said. “What is required now is funding from their end and support from my side. I believe we will fulfill the promise made to our people by October, God willing.”
Fubara described the project as particularly important to him, acknowledging Wike as the initiator of the vision.
“For me, this project is very important, considering the person who conceived it — my oga, the Honourable Minister,” the governor said. “He had a grand vision and believed that completing this project within record time would earn public approval.”
He added that, despite ongoing political developments, he remains committed to seeing the project through.
“Regardless of whatever is happening, it is my desire and responsibility to ensure that this vision becomes a reality,” Fubara stated.
Earlier, Wike had confirmed that the rift between himself and the governor had been resolved, crediting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for intervening to restore harmony.
According to the FCT minister, the president played a crucial role in easing tensions between the executive and legislative arms of government in Rivers State.
“The president is the father of the nation, and when a father speaks, his children must listen and take the necessary steps to ensure peace and progress,” Wike said.
He stressed that the priority remains the development of Rivers State, expressing appreciation to President Tinubu for his commitment to fostering unity and stability in the state.
