Wike Slams Falana: ‘You Don’t Have To Speak On Every Issue
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticized senior human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) for what he described as a tendency to comment on every public issue.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Falana had earlier faulted Wike’s decision to declare a public holiday and impose movement restrictions ahead of the recently concluded Area Council elections in Abuja.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Wike defended the measures, stating that Falana should not feel compelled to express opinions on matters without first verifying the facts.
The former Rivers State governor emphasized that the restriction of movement during the elections was approved by President Tinubu following security reports indicating possible attempts to bring in hoodlums to disrupt the process.
“With all due respect, Femi Falana should not comment on issues simply for the sake of doing so,” Wike said. “One should speak on matters they are well informed about. You cannot react to claims without verifying the facts.”
He further maintained that not every issue requires public commentary, adding that anyone choosing to speak on such matters should ensure they understand the full circumstances before making statements.
