Money War Erupts: Okunnu Fires Warning Shot At Olasco Films Over Alleged Debt
Veteran Nollywood comic actor Wale Akorede, popularly known as Okunnu, has responded strongly to movie marketer Olasco Films after being labeled ungrateful.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The dispute stems from a 16-year-old financial disagreement, with Okunnu previously accusing Olasco of failing to pay him for a film project.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Olugbenga Oropo Valentine on the SAWORO programme, Okunnu alleged that he was never paid for a movie he produced for Olasco. He described the unpaid funds as the reward for his hard work, stressing that he produced, directed, and starred in the film without receiving any share of the proceeds.
In response, Olasco dismissed the claims in an interview with Tunde Ola-Yusuf, describing Okunnu as ungrateful. He stated that he paid the actor ₦2 million to produce the movie 16 years ago.
According to Olasco, production costs at the time ranged between ₦700,000 and ₦1 million, suggesting that the payment made to Okunnu was sufficient. He likened the actor to “a blind man who throws away his walking stick after regaining sight,” implying that Okunnu had forgotten the support he once received.
Reacting in the comment section of the interview shared on Instagram, Okunnu pushed back at Olasco’s remarks and warned that he would soon speak out more extensively.
“I’m still coming for you in a big way. My silence for 16 years is ending soon,” he wrote, signaling that the long-standing dispute may not be over.
