The discussion began after Nigerian socialite and fashion enthusiast Rahman Jago shared a video of Burna Boy on (formerly Twitter), in which the singer was heard saying “Alhamdulillah,” an Arabic expression commonly used by Muslims that translates to “Praise be to God.”
The brief clip quickly went viral, prompting many users to question whether the artiste’s repeated use of Islamic phrases signaled a formal change in his religious faith.
Some fans pointed out that Burna Boy has used Arabic expressions in his music and during public appearances in the past, further fueling speculation that he may have privately embraced Islam.
As curiosity intensified, former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad addressed the issue after being asked about it on .
