The Calm Down singer shared these details during an interview with Dazed at Milan Fashion Week, where he walked the runway for Diesel.
He explained that before each performance, he takes a small amount of tequila, smokes a cigarette, prays, and checks in with his team to ensure everything is perfectly arranged.
According to Rema, performing live is far more demanding than modelling on the runway. He emphasized that live shows require controlled breathing and balanced energy to keep the audience engaged from start to finish.
The artist also shared that he has recently drawn inspiration from Sudanese cultural live music. He admitted that smoking remains his biggest weakness.
Known for his energetic stage presence and unique sound, Rema said he consciously works to connect with fans during his performances while maintaining a high level of showmanship.
He said:
“A little tequila, a little cigarette, pray, then check in with the team to make sure everything’s on cue. Performing live is more stressful than walking the runway. Smoking is my biggest vice. I prefer stylish women over wealthy ones — I already have the money.”
