Sheikh Gumi Issues Sh*cking Ultimatum: Conditions To Support IPOB, Boko Haram, ISWAP, And Bandits

Speaking in an interview with DRTV, Gumi stressed that negotiations with the Federal Government could offer a pathway to resolving the country’s persistent insecurity. His backing, he explained, would depend entirely on the groups’ willingness to abandon violence and participate in discussions with Nigerian authorities.
“Dialogue can bring peace, and we are men of peace. Even IPOB, which once pursued secession, if they are ready to lay down their arms and sit at the table for discussions, I am ready to support them. All we ask is the end of violence,” Gumi said.
He underscored that negotiation remains one of the most effective tools for resolving conflicts and restoring stability in the country. The cleric also advocated a comprehensive approach to insecurity, combining military measures with intellectual engagement and non-kinetic strategies.
“What we are asking is: what is the way out of insecurity? Let’s bring in intellectuals and experts to weigh in on solutions for Nigeria,” he added.
Gumi also linked the rise of violence to Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges, citing poor infrastructure, erratic electricity supply, inadequate healthcare, and weak education systems as major contributors.
“Look at our roads—they are terrible. Electricity is unreliable and expensive. Healthcare is failing—anyone with means, even our rich, travels abroad for treatment. Education? What is really working here?” he lamented.
