Meanwhile, over the weekend, troops under Operation Hadin Kai reportedly foiled attempted terrorist attacks on Azir Bridge and Banki in Borno State.

The Joint Task Force (North-East) said the attacks took place in the early hours of Friday when insurgents advanced in large numbers toward military positions in the two locations.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Sani Uba.

According to the statement, the insurgents launched coordinated assaults on troops stationed at Azir Bridge in Sector 2 and Banki in Sector 1 of the operational theatre.

However, the attackers reportedly encountered strong resistance from soldiers who were already on high alert.

The military said the troops responded with coordinated counter-attacks that disrupted the insurgents’ advance and forced them to withdraw.

Air support from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai also played a significant role in repelling the assault, with close air support operations weakening the attackers and helping troops maintain control of the affected areas.
