I Will Be There In Spirit” — El-Rufai Speaks Ahead Of ADC Convention In Viral Video
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has said he will be attending the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) “in spirit.”....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
He made the remark while speaking with journalists after appearing at the Kaduna State High Court for proceedings in his case with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
When asked about his plans for the ADC convention scheduled for Tuesday in Abuja, El-Rufai simply replied, “I will be there in spirit.”
The ADC, which currently serves as a platform for a coalition of opposition figures, is expected to hold its national convention in the Federal Capital Territory.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna State High Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of El-Rufai’s bail application in the ICPC case until Tuesday.
His lawyer, Ubong Akpan (SAN), confirmed the adjournment while briefing journalists after the session, noting that the charges had been amended and one co-defendant removed, leaving El-Rufai as the sole defendant.
Akpan explained that the court had taken the defendant’s plea and subsequently adjourned the matter to the following day.
El-Rufai is currently standing trial on a 10-count charge relating to alleged financial misappropriation and money laundering.
