Nigerian Human Rights activist, Deji Adeyanju claimed that the exact thing that occurred in the court of Appeal also happened during the presidential election. Recall videos surfaced on the internet of several voters’ intimidation towards supporters of the All Progressive Congress and People’s Democratic Party in the Southern Eastern part of Nigeria. He wrote; “What the mob did to their factional chairman at the Court of Appeal today was exactly the same thing they did to voters in the South East who wanted to vote for other political parties. They bullied them with violence like the Lagos APC thugs.”

Spokesman of the All Progressive Congress, Adamu Garba claimed the “obidiots miscreant” showcased their ill manners today again towards the chairman of their party. He wrote; “What the obidiots miscreants did to Lamidi Apapa in the court today is the testimony to their ill manners and evil plot against Nigeria’s democracy.”

He went further by saying they don’t have respect for the law “They don’t respect the law, they don’t respect the court, they don’t respect the opposition. All they know is violence and confrontation as they’ve shown time and time again. I’m glad this is the end of all their dramas in Nigeria. It was an LP vs LP. The court sent them away. It’s over for Peter Obi and his cooked electoral terrorist.”

Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Reno Omokri added his two-cent, claiming that they are no difference between police brutality and what the Obidients did to Lamidi. “Almost daily, Nigerians come on social media to complain about police brutality. But look at what Nigerians did to Lamidi Apapa, a factional national chairman of the Labour Party at the PEPC today. If many of us are given the power the police have, we will do far worse than their complained behaviour. There is a Seun Kuti in most of us. It would have even been better to have ignored Lamidi Apapa if you disagree with him. Treat him like a pariah. But to mob him in front of a court? Very undemocratic. ”
