A Nigerian Tweep has teased the former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar for his long shot at the presidency with zero wins after he congratulated Hilda for breaking the GWR for the longest cooking marathon.

Atiku Abubakar has contested for the presidency of Nigeria on several occasions. Here are the years in which he has made his presidential bids:

  1. 1992: Atiku initially contested for the presidency in the Social Democratic Party (SDP) primaries but lost to Moshood Abiola, who later won the general election that was annulled by the military government.
  2. 2007: Atiku ran for the presidency on the platform of the Action Congress (AC) party after leaving the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He faced significant challenges during the campaign and ultimately lost to Umaru Musa Yar’Adua of the PDP.
  3. 2011: Atiku contested for the presidency under the platform of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). However, he was unsuccessful in his bid, as Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP won the election.
  4. 2015: Atiku made another attempt at the presidency, this time as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He contested in the party’s primaries but lost to Muhammadu Buhari, who went on to win the general election.
  5. 2019: Atiku ran for the presidency once again, this time as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He emerged as the party’s flagbearer after winning the primaries. However, he was unsuccessful in his bid as he lost to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC in the general election.
  6. 2023: Atiku contested again for the presidency under the People’s Democratic Party, cliched the platform ticket after defeating Wike of Rivers State with the help of Waziri Tambuwal. However Atiku won the battle and lost the war as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerged winner of the polls.

A Nigerian Tweep teased him for his long shot at the presidency from the last 90s till this year with zero wins, Although Atiku doesn’t look like a retired politician, indeed “na only God know wetin i see for Aso Rock as vice-president”

She wrote; “If you run in 2027, you’d win World Record too. Longest Running Politician with zero win !!! Go abu… Go abu!!! I’m Atikuing for you!.”
