Power Clash Erupts As Al-Makura Condemns Sule’s Presentation Of Wadada To Tinubu
Former Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura has criticized Governor Abdullahi Sule over his decision to present Senator Aliyu Wadada to President Bola Tinubu as his preferred successor, describing the move as a violation of due process.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Al-Makura said the governor acted too hastily, noting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not yet released guidelines for selecting candidates ahead of the 2027 governorship election. He argued that taking any aspirant to the President at this stage, without broad consultation among party stakeholders, was inappropriate and an aberration.
According to him, while Sule has the right to support a preferred successor, such a process should follow laid-down procedures and reflect consensus within the party, especially as several individuals are reportedly interested in the race.
Al-Makura’s remarks came after Sule endorsed Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West in the Senate, and accompanied him to the State House in Abuja for a meeting with President Tinubu. Sule had said his support for Wadada was the outcome of consultations with stakeholders both within and outside Nasarawa State.
