Layi Wasabi Sparks Buzz As He Changes His Mind On Dating After Lagos Encounter

In a past interview, the skit maker explained that he did not believe in casual dating stages such as having a “girlfriend.” According to him, he preferred to begin relationships with marriage in mind, focusing only on partners he could see as potential wives from the outset.

“I don’t believe in the concept of a girlfriend. I believe in partnership. I don’t believe in that phase of girlfriends. I start with courtship. I have to see the wife in the person from the beginning,” he had said.

However, reacting to the resurfaced video on X, Layi admitted that his perspective has now changed. He noted that his experience in Lagos made him rethink his approach, adding that the realities of dating in the city influenced his current mindset.

He further hinted that his earlier expectations did not work out well for him, stating that he no longer insists on immediately looking for a wife in every relationship.

“Lool na this mentality I use enter Lagos dating pool. Dem wan kill me. Abeg I no dey try see wife in the beginning again o. Thanks,” he wrote.

Layi gained popularity through his online comedy skits, where he portrays a lawyer character and uses humour to highlight everyday social situations.
