The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Alhaji Onsachi Musa Idris as Senior Special Assistant on Procurement.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Idris assumed the new position on April 24, 2026, the same day he retired from the civil service. Prior to his retirement, he served as Director of Procurement in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, a role he held since July 2021.

In a statement issued Friday by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Idris was described as a seasoned public servant with over three decades of experience spanning administration, finance, and procurement management.

Over the course of his career, he held several strategic positions, including his appointment as Director of Common Services in charge of procurement in August 2019, before moving to head the Department of Procurement in 2021.

During his time in office, he oversaw procurement processes and was credited with ensuring compliance with due process and established regulations. The statement also noted his contributions to improving administrative and procurement operations within the system.

His appointment as Senior Special Assistant on Procurement takes immediate effect.
