According to the actor, some individuals are actively undermining the progress of others, making internal sabotage one of Nollywood’s biggest setbacks.
He said if there is one thing he would change about the industry, it would be getting rid of those he described as saboteurs working against its growth.
Jim Iyke made the remarks during an interview with the BBC, where he reflected on his career and shared his views on Nollywood. He noted that certain behaviours within the industry have slowed development and need urgent attention.
“If there is one thing I would love to change about Nollywood, it would be to purge saboteurs from the industry. The industry is full of saboteurs. They can’t help themselves. They need therapy,” he said.
Speaking on his personal life, the actor also recounted an emotional moment in his career when his son praised his acting and spoke glowingly about him. Jim Iyke said the moment moved him to tears, forcing him to step away briefly to regain composure.
