The protesters called for the resignation of INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, accusing him of bias.
During the demonstration, party members were seen carrying placards with inscriptions such as, “Amupitan: Resign before the street resigns you.”
ADC members have reportedly carried out similar peaceful protests across the country, insisting on Amupitan’s resignation.
The INEC Chairman has been accused of alleged links with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), following claims of an X account reportedly associated with him.
Meanwhile, veteran Nollywood actor and lawyer Kenneth Okonkwo said he was at the Supreme Court ahead of its ruling on the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a video shared from the court premises, Okonkwo showed himself seated and waiting for the arrival of the judges, describing the moment as “Judgement Day.”
He wrote: “We are already at the Supreme Court this 30th day of April 2026, awaiting the judgement on the survival of democracy in Nigeria.”
The Supreme Court is expected to deliver judgment on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in the leadership disputes involving the ADC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a ruling seen as significant for both opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The matters, listed under political appeals, are scheduled for 2 pm.
The PDP case is marked SC/CV/166/2026, while the ADC case is SC/CV/180/2026.
Ahead of the ruling, ADC leaders reportedly held an emergency meeting on Wednesday night to assess possible outcomes and determine their next political steps.
