The Anambra State Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Charles Anueyiagu, has described a potential joint presidential ticket between former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso as a strong political alliance capable of driving national renewal and rebuilding Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Anueyiagu stated this on Thursday during a media briefing in Awka, where he called on supporters of both the Obidient and Kwankwasia movements to unite under a single platform in order to improve their chances in the 2027 general elections.

He said both political movements are driven by the shared goal of promoting good governance, adding that a merger would strengthen their support base across both northern and southern Nigeria and enhance their electoral prospects.

According to him, such an alliance would signal a shift away from what he described as a governance system that has failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

He also pointed to the 2023 presidential election, noting that if the votes secured separately by Obi and Kwankwaso were combined, they would form a significant electoral bloc.

“The Obidient and Kwankwasian movements are strong independent bodies serving the same purpose of ensuring good governance in Nigeria,” he said.

“In the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi scored over eight million votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso recorded over one million votes. If combined, these figures represent a formidable force.”

Anueyiagu added that lessons from the 2023 elections have strengthened the determination of supporters, saying a united front would yield better political outcomes.

He further emphasised that national renewal requires unity beyond ethnic and regional divides, urging Nigerians to work together for accountability and improved governance.

“National rebirth is not the responsibility of one tribe but a collective duty. Nigerians must come together to confront hardship, restore accountability, and build a better future,” he said.
