The announcement was made on Sunday during a church service marking the 2026 Father’s Day celebration at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor.
Nwifuru explained that the decision was taken in appreciation of the continued support his administration has received from workers across the state.
“I want to thank our workers for their unwavering support, and in recognition of this, I have decided to recall all suspended officials, except those from the Ministry of Lands whose matters are still being investigated,” he said.
The governor noted that the move is aimed at strengthening government operations and fostering unity within the workforce.
He also expressed concern over the conduct of some political appointees who have publicly declared interest in elective offices without first consulting him, describing such actions as disrespectful.
Nwifuru warned that political ambitions should be pursued with proper consultation and adherence to established leadership structures, stressing the need for discipline, loyalty, and order in public service.
Speaking further, the governor congratulated men on the occasion of Father’s Day, describing them as the backbone of families and society.
He said the celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities of men as family heads, role models, and contributors to societal development.
Nwifuru urged fathers and men in leadership positions to continue setting positive examples in their homes, religious institutions, and communities.
He commended their commitment to family values, faith, and community growth, noting that such efforts help strengthen the moral fabric of society.
“At a time when the nation is in need of principled leadership, discipline, and unity, men must continue to demonstrate integrity, sacrifice, and service,” he said.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment where families can thrive under its People’s Charter of Needs agenda.
He also encouraged women to treat their husbands with respect and dignity, while urging men to uphold values that promote peace, unity, and social harmony.
Nwifuru assured that his government would continue to collaborate with all segments of society to advance development, discipline, and moral standards in the state.
