Obasa Clinches Lagos APC Reps Ticket Unopposed, Reacts To Massive Support

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives for the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Obasa emerged unopposed during the APC primary election held across all 13 wards of the constituency on Saturday.

It will be recalled that he had earlier declared his intention to run for the federal seat at a stakeholder meeting in Agege on May 13.

Victory Remarks

In a statement released on Sunday after his emergence, Obasa expressed appreciation to party members and constituents for their overwhelming support and confidence in his candidacy.

He pledged to prioritise the interests of the Agege constituency at the National Assembly by advocating for increased federal presence, youth empowerment programmes, improved infrastructure, quality education, enhanced healthcare services, and economic development initiatives.

Obasa also promised to remain accessible to his constituents, stressing that his victory represents a collective achievement for all party members.

He said, “Your massive support and the outcome of the primary are clear demonstrations of your belief in our shared vision for better representation, sustained development and stronger grassroots leadership for Agege.

“I do not take this mandate for granted. It is a responsibility I accept with humility and total commitment to continue serving our people diligently.

“At the National Assembly, I will continue to champion the interests of Agege by pushing for more federal presence, youth empowerment opportunities, improved infrastructure, quality education, better healthcare delivery and economic initiatives that will directly impact our people.

“I will also remain accessible to the grassroots, maintain constant engagement with constituents and ensure that the voices of our people are heard loudly and clearly in Abuja.

“Yesterday’s victory belongs to every loyal party member, every supporter and every resident who believes in continuity, progress and purposeful representation.”
