In a statement issued on Tuesday and jointly signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, and National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, the party said the latest amendment became necessary following growing requests from aspirants and stakeholders.

The PDP, however, stressed that this adjustment would be the final one, citing the need to align with the official election timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to the revised schedule, May 22, 2026, has been fixed as the deadline for the submission of completed nomination forms, while party primaries for all elective offices will hold on May 28, 2026.

The statement also outlined other key dates in the updated timetable.

Special screening for aspirants who were yet to be screened is scheduled for May 23, 2026, while screening appeals and the publication of cleared aspirants will take place between May 25 and May 27, 2026.

The party urged all members and aspirants to strictly comply with the revised timetable, warning that no further extension would be granted because of the need to meet INEC’s electoral schedule.

The statement read in part: “Arising from the increasing demands from aspirants and other stakeholders, the Interim National Working Committee has approved a further and FINAL amendment to the timetable for pre-nomination activities.”

The PDP reiterated that all party faithful must adhere to the updated dates to ensure a smooth and timely completion of its nomination process ahead of the 2027 elections.
