Former IGP Adamu Breaks Silence, Reveals Condition For Staying In APC
Former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, has warned that he may leave the All Progressives Congress if justice is not served in his appeal over the outcome of the recently concluded governorship primary in Nasarawa State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Abubakar alleged that the result of the primary election was manipulated at the final stage in favour of the government-backed candidate, Ahmed Aliyu Wadada.
The former police chief insisted that he won the primary convincingly, arguing that the declaration of Wadada as winner was rejected by the majority of APC members and stakeholders in the state due to alleged irregularities that marred the exercise.
He called on the party’s appeal committee and national leadership to review the outcome and declare him the rightful winner, expressing optimism that justice would ultimately prevail.
Abubakar, however, cautioned that if the APC leadership fails to address his grievances fairly, he would consider defecting to another political party to pursue his governorship ambition.
According to him, his determination to transform and reposition Nasarawa State remains strong, adding that he is confident of securing victory in the 2027 governorship election with the backing of the people, whether under the APC or a different political platform.
He also appealed to his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding while continuing to push for fairness and good governance in the state.
“Should justice prevail, we will continue our political journey within the APC. But if justice is denied, we will unveil our next course of action and the platform on which we will contest the 2027 governorship election,” he stated.
