Jonathan’s Certificate Of Return Sparks Controversy As Agbedi Speaks Out
A member of the House of Representatives from Bayelsa State, Fredrick Agbedi, has said Nigerians should commend the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for encouraging former President Goodluck Jonathan to consider a return to active politics.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Agbedi made the remark on Wednesday during an appearance on the Arise Television Morning Show.
He maintained that Jonathan has every right to contest in the 2027 presidential election.
According to him, the PDP has repeatedly discussed Jonathan’s possible return, adding that preparations within the party are already advanced.
He also claimed that related documents, including the certificate of return, are in his custody and would be formally presented to Jonathan.
“The PDP has spoken severally about Jonathan running and it has almost completed all the processes. The formal handing over of the certificates of returns is in my custody to be presented to Jonathan,” he said.
Agbedi further argued that as a former president, Jonathan should be encouraged to serve again if he is willing, especially given his past experience in office.
He said citizens should support leaders who are ready to make sacrifices for national development, stressing that Jonathan’s previous tenure demonstrated a commitment to democratic governance.
He added that if Jonathan chooses to run under the PDP platform, he should be allowed to do so without opposition.
