VIDEO: Inside The Daring Police Mission That Rescued Adelabu’s Sister And Sons

The victims were freed during a late-night operation carried out at about 7:30 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

In the footage shared on X by the media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, police operatives were seen storming the apartment where the victims were being held captive.

Mrs. John-Paul is the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.

According to a police source who spoke with Channels Television, two suspected kidnappers were killed during a gun battle with security operatives.

Two firearms were also recovered from the suspects during the operation.

The source further explained that sustained intelligence gathering and tactical pressure led to the confrontation, ultimately resulting in the successful rescue of the victims.

Security operatives are currently combing surrounding areas in search of fleeing members of the kidnapping gang, some of whom are believed to have escaped with gunshot injuries.
