Mbaka made the remarks while reacting to the abduction of teachers and pupils from schools in Oriire Local Government Area.

The attackers reportedly invaded three schools in Esinele, Yawota, and Alawusa communities on May 15, demanding the release of detained terrorist commanders, payment of ransom, provision of two Hilux vehicles, and the implementation of Sharia-related provisions before freeing the victims.

Speaking during a sermon, the cleric urged Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to take immediate and decisive action to secure the release of the abducted children.

He stressed that governors should not transfer responsibility for internal security to the federal government.

Mbaka said, “The governor should do everything within his power to ensure the release of these children. Stop deceiving Nigerians by asking the President to come and find them.”

He also offered prayers for the safe return of the victims and called for divine intervention against the perpetrators of the kidnapping.

The cleric further questioned the use of security votes by state governments, arguing that significant funds are allocated to governors specifically to address security challenges in their states.

Mbaka called on political leaders to prioritise cooperation over blame-shifting in tackling insecurity and warned against politicising the situation.

He concluded by urging accountability at all levels of leadership while continuing to pray for the safe rescue of the abducted schoolchildren.
