Fresh Twist In Adelabu Sister Kidnap Case As APC Governorship Candidate Responds

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has denied any involvement in the abduction of the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.

The victims were kidnapped earlier last week but were later rescued on Saturday night after police operatives stormed a township apartment based on credible intelligence.

However, reports circulating on Sunday morning alleged a connection between the APC candidate and the incident.

In a statement issued in Ibadan on Sunday, Alli strongly refuted the claims, describing them as false, misleading, and politically motivated.

He said the allegations were aimed at damaging his reputation and urged the public to ignore them completely.

Alli also called on security agencies to thoroughly investigate both the kidnapping incident and the origin of the rumours linking him to it.

He further described the publication as irresponsible and defamatory, insisting it lacked any form of credibility.

According to him, “We categorically describe the publication as irresponsible, defamatory, politically motivated and completely devoid of credibility.

“We urge members of the public to disregard the report in its entirety and avoid spreading falsehoods that could obstruct ongoing security investigations or create unnecessary political tension.”EE
