Momoh Receives National Youth Group, Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Empowerment and Regional Development

The Honourable Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, on Thursday received the leadership of Youths on Ground Nigeria (YOG) on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration on youth empowerment and grassroots development across the country.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HEREâ–¶

The delegation was led by the Founder and National Coordinator, Dr. Obioma Nwuba, alongside the National Secretary on Empowerment, Mr. Chinedu Afoenyih, National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Anthony Obi, and the FCT Organizing Secretary, Amb. Jesse Nazareth Bako.

During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Minister on the organization’s activities in leadership development, entrepreneurship, mentorship, civic engagement and community empowerment, while seeking strategic collaboration with the Ministry and the Regional Development Commissions to expand opportunities for young Nigerians.

The delegation commended the Ministry for its efforts since its establishment, particularly in providing strategic direction for the Regional Development Commissions and the recent unveiling of the National Regional Development Policy, which provides a coordinated framework for balanced and sustainable development across the country’s six geopolitical zones.

Speaking during the engagement, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, FNSE, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to partnerships that promote inclusive regional development and youth participation. He stressed that empowering young people remains essential to building stronger communities, stimulating local economies and driving sustainable national growth.

The Minister noted that the Ministry remains focused on ensuring that the Regional Development Commissions deliver tangible benefits to communities through improved infrastructure, economic empowerment, human capital development and programmes that directly improve the quality of life of Nigerians.

The meeting ended with both parties expressing optimism that closer collaboration between government and youth-focused organizations would create more opportunities for skills development, entrepreneurship and grassroots empowerment, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
