In a statement issued on Saturday, the Media Director of the Chinedum Orji Media Organisation, Paul Njoku, rejected the allegations circulating on social media, insisting that no such operation was carried out by the anti-graft agency.

The viral reports had claimed that EFCC officials stormed Orji’s residence in Umuahia, allegedly recovering billions of dollars, pre-written election results, gold jewellery and several luxury vehicles.

Responding to the claims, Njoku maintained that the alleged raid never occurred.

“At no time did the EFCC raid his residence in Umuahia or any other location in Nigeria. Consequently, no incriminating items, election materials, or any of the alleged exhibits were recovered, as no such operation ever took place,” the statement said.

The media organisation described the reports as “false, malicious, and deliberately crafted to mislead the public, tarnish reputations and create unnecessary panic.”

It also stated that the former governor was “hale, hearty and in good health.”

According to Njoku, the organisation initially chose not to respond to the rumours but decided to issue a statement after receiving numerous enquiries from associates, supporters and concerned members of the public.

“We consider it necessary to set the record straight,” he said.

The organisation urged journalists and the public to verify information through credible sources before publishing or sharing sensitive claims.

It further stated that its focus remains on supporting the political activities of former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, whom it identified as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

The group added that it would not be distracted by what it described as attempts by unnamed individuals to spread false information.

Theodore Orji served as governor of Abia State between 2007 and 2015 before representing Abia Central Senatorial District in the Senate.
