Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has disclosed that he was among those who interacted with Adeniyi Adeyemi, the man accused of presenting himself as the Director-General of the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during plenary on Wednesday, Kalu said he considered himself one of the victims of Adeyemi’s alleged activities, noting that photographs of their meeting have since circulated widely in the media.

According to the Deputy Speaker, the images have been repeatedly published alongside reports concerning the individual who claimed to head the council.

Sharing his experience with lawmakers, Kalu explained that his office received an official-looking letter in May 2025 bearing the Presidency’s letterhead and identifying the sender as the Director-General of the PFIPC.

He said the correspondence listed an office address at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase Three, Central Business District, Abuja, a detail that prompted him to seek verification before granting any meeting.

Kalu noted that while some aspects of the letter appeared authentic, other details raised questions, prompting his office to conduct further checks.

According to him, members of his staff visited the address indicated in the correspondence and confirmed that an office operating under the name of the organisation was located there.

Based on that verification, he approved a meeting with Adeyemi, believing at the time that the organisation was legitimate.

The Deputy Speaker’s account comes amid ongoing investigations and court proceedings involving Adeyemi, who is facing allegations relating to the activities of the PFIPC, an organisation the Presidency has said is not a recognised government agency.
