The refinery announced the initiative in a notice posted on its official X account on Wednesday.

According to the company, the free delivery service will be available to eligible customers in Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna and Delta states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The refinery explained that the offer applies to customers purchasing a minimum of 250,000 litres of petrol.

The initiative follows recent engagements between Dangote Refinery and stakeholders in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector on the need for cost-reflective fuel pricing.

At the end of the discussions, participants reportedly expressed support for additional reductions in petrol prices to ease the burden on consumers.

The refinery had recently announced its fourth downward review of the gantry price of petrol, reducing the ex-depot price to ₦1,075 per litre.

Industry observers believe the free delivery programme could lower transportation and logistics costs for bulk buyers operating within the designated locations.

Meanwhile, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Maigandi, said the retail price of petrol has dropped by about ₦125 per litre over the past three weeks.

According to Maigandi, petrol is currently selling at between ₦1,155 and ₦1,299 per litre across different parts of the country, with prices varying depending on location and individual marketers.

The latest development comes as Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector continues to witness changes in pricing, distribution and market competition following ongoing reforms in the industry.
