Horror On The Road As Gunmen Abduct Three Siblings Taking Mother’s Body Home

Naija News learnt that the victims were on their way to Iklenyi community in Okpokwu Local Government Area for their mother’s burial when they were attacked in the early hours of Saturday.

The abduction reportedly occurred along the Ogobia–Otukpo Road, between Omutele and Ankpechi villages in Oglewu District, an area that residents say has recently witnessed a series of attacks by armed criminals.

According to local sources, the siblings were conveying their mother’s body from Abuja to their hometown when they ran into the assailants.

Residents who spoke with Daily Trust said they heard multiple gunshots between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., triggering panic and forcing many people to flee the area.

Witnesses disclosed that the family’s vehicle had developed a mechanical fault during the journey, leaving them stranded on the roadside until about 2:00 a.m.

After the vehicle was repaired and the family resumed the trip, they reportedly encountered the gunmen, who abducted the three siblings.

As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the vehicle and the remains of the deceased had yet to be confirmed.

Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Ohimini Local Government Area, Gabriel Adole, said he was heading to the scene to obtain firsthand information about the attack.

“Yes, I’m going to the scene now to ascertain what really happened,” Adole said.

Meanwhile, the Benue State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time this report was filed.
