Hanga criticised Kwankwaso for allegedly using his age and physical condition as reasons to deny him the opportunity to seek elective positions, including the office of deputy governor and a return to the Senate.

Speaking during a radio programme in Kano, the former senator maintained that he is in good health and rejected what he described as repeated references to his leg condition.

“How can Kwankwaso use my age and health as reasons to prevent me from contesting for the position of deputy governor or my Senate seat?” Hanga asked.

He further claimed that he is in better physical condition than the former Kano State governor.

“As of today, I am healthier than Kwankwaso. His constant references to my leg condition are baseless and cannot stand. Besides, he is two years older than I am,” he said.

Hanga argued that his leg condition has never affected his ability to perform his legislative responsibilities, questioning why it should now be considered an obstacle to holding public office.

“If the issue is my age, how old was Kwankwaso when he became governor, and how old is he today as a vice-presidential candidate?” he added.
