I Had To Leave’ — Seun Kuti Finally Reveals Why He Walked Out Of Peller’s Traditional Wedding

Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has dismissed reports claiming he stormed out of the traditional wedding of popular TikTok couple Jarvis and Peller in anger.

The speculation began after social media users alleged that Seun left the Lagos ceremony because one of the event’s Masters of Ceremony (MCs) compared music star Wizkid to his late father, Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

The rumours gained traction after a video surfaced online showing Seun walking through the lavishly decorated reception hall with two companions before exiting the venue.

Reacting to the claims in a viral video alongside Fuji singer Malaika, Seun explained that he simply left the wedding to attend activities at the New Afrika Shrine, insisting that bloggers misrepresented the situation.

He also questioned why his departure was interpreted as an act of anger, joking that perhaps he should have danced his way out to avoid misunderstandings.

He said: “I left the wedding to go to the Shrine, and these bloggers twisted things, saying I was angry. Maybe I should have danced out of the ceremony.”

Meanwhile, comedian and actor Gbadamosi Jonathan, popularly known as MC Edo Pikin, has also addressed the controversy, defending the MCs who anchored the event.

According to Edo Pikin, no comparison was made between Fela Kuti and Wizkid, contrary to the rumours circulating online. He described the allegation as false, explaining that the MCs were actually speaking positively about Seun during the event.

He further advised the Afrobeat singer to exercise patience and verify information before reacting to reports or making conclusions.
