Come Give Me A Hug” — Governor Adeleke Breaks Down In Tears During Emotional Moment With Davido

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke became emotional and broke down in tears on Sunday while receiving a congratulatory call from his nephew and Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Davido had been actively involved in Adeleke’s re-election campaign, publicly supporting his uncle and repeatedly expressing confidence that he would secure another term in office.

Adeleke was declared the winner of the governorship election on Sunday after securing 511,067 votes across the state, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A video circulating on social media captured an emotional moment between the governor and Davido during their conversation. Adeleke, visibly overwhelmed with emotion, was heard telling the singer, “Come and give me a hug.”

In the video, Adeleke’s son, B-Red, could also be seen comforting him and patting him on the back as the emotional exchange unfolded.

Meanwhile, the APC in Osun State has reacted to Adeleke’s victory, saying it is currently reviewing the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election before determining its next course of action.

The opposition party said the declaration of a winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) does not necessarily bring the electoral process to an end, noting that aggrieved parties have the right to seek legal redress.

In a statement issued on Sunday by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the APC said its leadership was examining the results from polling units and wards across the state.

The party added that it would consult with its legal team before deciding on the appropriate steps to take.

According to the APC, the electoral process does not end with voting and the announcement of results, as disputes arising from elections can ultimately be resolved through the courts.
