Kwam 1 Stuns Guests As He Prostrates Before Obasanjo At Royal Birthday Celebration

Fuji music icon King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam1, paid homage to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in a traditional Yoruba manner during the 60th birthday celebration of the Olota of Ota, Oba Professor Abdulkabir Adewale Obalanlege.

The celebration was held on Thursday in honour of the monarch.

A video circulating online captured the moment Obasanjo walked onto the stage while Kwam1 was performing.

As the former president approached, Kwam1 paused his performance, lowered himself to the floor and fully prostrated before Obasanjo, in keeping with the traditional Yoruba way of showing respect to elders.

Obasanjo responded by walking towards the Fuji musician and patting him on the back in acknowledgement. He subsequently took the microphone to address the gathering and extend his greetings to the celebrant monarch.

Popular Nigerian entertainer Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has claimed that Obasanjo remains committed to the idea of building a new Nigeria.

Charly Boy described the former president as a strong and fearless individual, cautioning Nigerians not to mistake his laughter or jovial personality for weakness.

He made the remarks in a post on his account, where he warned people against underestimating Obasanjo.

The entertainer also drew comparisons between himself and the former president while highlighting what he described as Obasanjo’s bold personality.
