AFAN Mourns As Former President Kabir Faskari Passes Away

Former President of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) and the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Architect Kabir Ibrahim Faskari, has died in Turkey.

Faskari, who also served as Chairman of the Agriculture Business Group, reportedly passed away in Istanbul following complications from prostate surgery.

A close associate of the deceased confirmed the development to Daily Trust, revealing that Faskari had recently hosted some of his associates in Istanbul.

The source said the associates interacted with him shortly before returning to Nigeria.

However, Faskari reportedly developed complications after undergoing the surgery and subsequently died.

The late agriculturist is expected to be buried in Turkey, according to the source.

Faskari was a notable figure in Nigeria’s agricultural sector, where he played prominent roles in several farmers’ organisations.

His tenure as president of AFAN and PAN brought him considerable recognition, particularly for his contributions to discussions around farmers’ welfare, poultry production, food security and agricultural development.

He was also a vocal advocate for Nigerian farmers and frequently highlighted the challenges confronting food production and the broader agricultural industry.

Throughout his career, Faskari granted numerous interviews to journalists, offering insights into agriculture, food security and government policies aimed at improving the livelihoods of farmers and strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
