Former APC Presidential Aspirant Shocks Supporters, Quits Active Politics

Former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant Adamu Garba has announced his decision to withdraw from active politics and dedicate his time to technology and his private-sector responsibilities.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Garba made the announcement in a statement shared on his X account on Tuesday, explaining that the decision followed careful consideration of the demands of his responsibilities within the private sector.

The former presidential aspirant said he would now focus exclusively on his roles as Executive Chairman and Chief Platform Architect of IPI Group Limited and its subsidiaries.

Garba explained that his responsibilities required sustained personal attention, technical expertise and a level of commitment that could not easily be delegated, making it difficult to combine them effectively with extensive political activities.

He said he had therefore decided to concentrate on developing the group’s AI-focused enterprise while using technology to contribute to the development of society and support the future of Nigeria and Africa.

The former APC aspirant also expressed appreciation to his political associates, party leaders, supporters and members of the public who had supported him throughout his political journey.

He noted that his nine years of political involvement had significantly shaped him and said he remained grateful for the confidence and opportunities he received during that period.

Garba first declared his interest in contesting the presidency under the APC ahead of the 2019 general elections. He later remained involved in the party’s presidential contest as an aspirant ahead of the 2023 elections.

His latest announcement marks a shift from active political engagement to a stronger focus on technology, artificial intelligence and his responsibilities in the private sector.
