The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has apologised to its customers following continued disruption to its mobile banking application, which has left some users unable to access the platform since Sunday.

The development reportedly affected customers’ ability to log into the application and carry out transactions, prompting complaints from some users on social media.

According to Bush Radio Academy, UBA acknowledged the technical difficulties in a message sent to customers at about 1:51 p.m. on Tuesday and advised affected users to make use of alternative banking channels while efforts were underway to restore normal access to the mobile application.

The disruption had earlier generated reactions from several customers on X, with some users reporting difficulties accessing their accounts and completing transactions through the UBA mobile app.

Some affected customers said they had turned to Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), USSD banking services and physical branches to carry out essential transactions during the outage.

The incident also raised concerns among some customers who alleged that the bank’s mobile application had experienced similar service interruptions on several occasions over the past two months.

For customers who depend on the mobile platform for transfers, bill payments and other banking services, the recurring disruptions have reportedly resulted in significant inconvenience.

Addressing the development, UBA assured customers that its technical team was working to restore access to the application as quickly as possible.

The bank apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage and urged customers to use its alternative transaction channels while the technical issue was being resolved.

In its message to customers, the bank stated: “You may be unable to log in to your UBA Mobile App. Kindly transact with our other channels as we work to resolve this quickly. Apologies for the inconvenience.
