Drama On Set Clemson Cornell Reveals Why Liz Benson Ran Away
Nollywood actor Clemson Cornell Agbogidi has recounted an unusual experience he said occurred while working alongside veteran actress Liz Benson on a movie set.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Agbogidi claimed that Benson became uncomfortable after seeing him portray a native doctor and subsequently declined to continue with the scene.
The actor made the revelation while discussing his career and experiences in the Nigerian film industry. He said his portrayal was so convincing that Benson reportedly believed an actual native doctor had been brought to the production to act alongside her.
Agbogidi said the veteran actress allegedly walked away from the scene and refused to continue acting after seeing him in character.
The actor, who is known for portraying traditional and spiritual characters in Nollywood productions, also shared his views on indigenous African religious practices.
He argued that traditional forms of worship existed among African communities before the arrival and spread of Christianity and maintained that people who practised indigenous religions in the past should not automatically be regarded as evil.
Agbogidi said Africans should consider the historical context of the beliefs and practices of their ancestors rather than judging them solely through modern religious perspectives.
His comments have since attracted reactions from movie lovers and social media users, with some praising his ability to convincingly interpret traditional roles while others focused on the amusing account involving Liz Benson.
The actor’s account has generated renewed interest in his performances and the distinctive roles he has played throughout his Nollywood career. The reported incident remains an account given by Agbogidi, and there has been no independent confirmation from Liz Benson regarding the episode.
