Adeleke Jets To UK For Medical Check-Up After Re-Election Victory

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has travelled out of Nigeria for a vacation following the conclusion of the state’s governorship election.

Adeleke departed Nigeria on Sunday, September 6, 2026, according to his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

Rasheed disclosed that the governor’s trip would involve a period of rest and medical checks in the United Kingdom, alongside visits to other European destinations whose details were not disclosed.

The duration of Adeleke’s trip and his exact return date have not been made public.

The governor’s journey comes shortly after he secured re-election in the Osun State governorship election, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Adeleke is expected to resume his official duties in Osun State after completing his vacation and medical checks.

His spokesperson said the break would provide the governor with an opportunity to rest and prepare for the next phase of his administration.

The governor was quoted as saying, “I am taking a short break to refresh and get further prepared to serve the good people of Osun State.”

The trip marks Adeleke’s first major break following the conclusion of the governorship election, as he prepares to continue his administration after securing another term in office.
