2027: Na’Allah Breaks Ranks, Says He Won’t Force Constituents To Support APC

Former Deputy Senate Majority Leader, Senator Bala Na’Allah, has declared that although he remains a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, he will not use his political influence to compel his constituents to support the party in the 2027 general elections.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Na’Allah made the statement during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time while responding to questions about his political position following his withdrawal from the APC senatorial primary in May.

The former lawmaker explained that his decision to step aside from the senatorial contest was influenced by his belief that the outcome of the primary had already been predetermined. He maintained that his commitment to democratic principles would not allow him to impose his political preference on the people he represents.

Na’Allah said he believes strongly in respecting the wishes of his constituents, stressing that democracy requires political leaders to acknowledge the choices of the majority.

He explained that while he remains an APC member, he would not prevent his constituents from supporting another political party if they decide that the APC is no longer their preferred platform ahead of the 2027 elections.

The former senator maintained that his experience in politics had not placed him in a position where he could dictate the political choices of his people or force them to support a party against their wishes.

Na’Allah had been expected to contest the APC senatorial primary as part of his reported ambition to return to the Senate in 2027. However, he withdrew from the process after alleging that the outcome had already been decided before the primary was conducted.

His latest comments have added a new dimension to the political conversation ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly regarding the relationship between political leaders, party loyalty and the freedom of constituents to make independent electoral choices.
