The Nigerian naira continued to trade against the United States dollar at both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets on Thursday, September 17, 2026, with fresh rates recorded across the two segments.

According to Bush Radio Academy, data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the naira exchanged at ₦1,331.2812 to one US dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Thursday.

The latest figure represents a change from the ₦1,329.8568 per dollar recorded on Wednesday, indicating a movement in the official exchange rate.

At the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, the naira closed at approximately ₦1,394 to the dollar on Thursday.

However, actual rates offered by commercial banks, Bureau de Change (BDC) operators and other foreign exchange dealers may vary from the reference figures due to transaction margins, market demand and supply conditions.

Market participants are expected to continue monitoring foreign exchange inflows, demand for the US dollar and policy decisions by the CBN for further indications of how the naira may perform as the month progresses.
