Army Recruitment 2026: Nigerian Army Opens 92 Regular Recruits Intake — See Requirements

The Nigerian Army has commenced online registration for the 92 Regular Recruits Intake, inviting Nigerians with specialised technical skills to apply for the recruitment exercise.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the registration opened on September 16, 2026, and will remain open until October 21, 2026. The exercise is aimed at recruiting Nigerians with technical expertise that can support specialised areas of military operations.

The Army said eligible applicants include boat operators, marine mechanics, electrical and mechanical engineers, as well as individuals with relevant technical apprenticeship experience.

Applicants are required to be Nigerian citizens by birth and must be between 18 and 35 years old as of October 21, 2026. Prospective candidates have also been advised to ensure they meet all stipulated requirements and complete their applications before the deadline.

The Nigerian Army stressed that the recruitment process is completely free, warning applicants against individuals or organisations demanding money in exchange for recruitment opportunities.

Qualified Nigerians with the required technical skills have therefore been encouraged to submit their applications through the designated online recruitment platform within the stipulated period.

Meanwhile, the Army has also clarified reports concerning the alleged abduction of Islamic clerics at the residence of former Zamfara State Governor Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari in Talata Mafara Local Government Area.

The Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 8 Division/Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, said no cleric was abducted at Yari’s residence, describing reports suggesting otherwise as misleading and false.

Osoba explained that intelligence available to the military indicated that the victims were abducted while travelling from the Sububu forest axis in Bakura Local Government Area towards Talata Mafara.

He said troops, working alongside other security agencies and local intelligence networks, had intensified efforts to locate and rescue the abducted persons.

The Army consequently urged members of the public to exercise caution and avoid spreading unverified reports that could cause unnecessary panic or interfere with ongoing security operations.
