Family Drama Erupts As Lady Accuses Sister Of Allegedly Sending Their Mother Out Of Her Home

A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after publicly calling out her elder sister over an alleged disagreement that resulted in their mother being asked to leave the sister’s home.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the family dispute reportedly stemmed from repeated comparisons made by their mother between the husbands of her two daughters whenever she visited the younger daughter.

In a social media post, the younger daughter explained that their mother had been living with her elder sister and her husband. She alleged that whenever their mother visited her and observed the financial situation of her household, she would return to her elder sister’s home and complain that her sister and her husband could not provide the same level of care.

She claimed the situation eventually caused tension between her mother and elder sister, with the elder sister allegedly telling their mother that if she preferred the younger daughter’s treatment, she should stay with her instead.

However, the younger daughter explained that she could not permanently accommodate their mother because she and her husband had agreed before getting married that they would not allow anyone to live with them permanently.

According to her, the arrangement was that people could visit but would eventually return to their own homes, and she said her husband was unlikely to change that agreement.

The situation reportedly escalated when her elder sister allegedly asked their mother to leave the house. The mother subsequently contacted the younger daughter for assistance, but her husband was already at home, making it difficult for her to accommodate their mother immediately.

She said she advised her mother to spend the night at the home of a cousin while she tried to resolve the situation.

The following morning, however, the cousin reportedly informed her that she could no longer accommodate their mother because of limited space. The younger daughter then appealed to her elder sister to forgive their mother and allow her to return home.

She also contacted her brother-in-law in an attempt to resolve the dispute. According to her account, he said he had no personal problem with his mother-in-law but was uncomfortable with what he described as her constant comparisons between him and the younger daughter’s husband.

The woman said she tried to explain that parents sometimes compare the circumstances of their children, particularly when one appears to be financially better off. However, she claimed her brother-in-law maintained that he could not tolerate such comparisons and asked her to caution their mother.

Expressing frustration over the development, the younger daughter questioned how her sister could allegedly send their mother away and described the situation as painful.

She said she was subsequently making arrangements for their mother to move into one of her husband’s apartments located close to the mother’s cousin, while the family sought a more permanent solution to the dispute.
