You’ve Been Lying To Me For 3 Years — Wife Reacts After Husband’s ₦20m Secret Is Exposed
A Nigerian man has shared the story of his colleague whose marriage reportedly came under strain after his wife discovered that he had secretly saved more than ₦20 million while preparing to relocate abroad.
According to Bush Radio Academy, the story was shared on X by a user identified as @prince_dc21_, who claimed that the man had concealed a significant increase in his salary from his family for about three years.
The man reportedly received a promotion that raised his monthly salary from ₦300,000 to ₦850,000. However, instead of informing his wife and other family members about the increase, he allegedly continued living as though he was earning his former salary.
According to the account, the man decided to keep the promotion private because he feared that revealing his increased income would lead to greater financial demands from his family. He reportedly said that during his first two years of employment, he had been unable to save money, prompting him to adopt a different approach after his promotion.
He allegedly saved the additional ₦550,000 from his monthly income while maintaining his previous lifestyle. The strategy reportedly continued for three years, during which he accumulated more than ₦20 million.
The man later began making plans to relocate abroad and reportedly secured a visa. It was only after receiving the visa approval that he told his wife about the salary increase, the savings and his plans to leave the country.
The revelation reportedly angered his wife, who threatened to end the marriage. She allegedly accused her husband of deceiving her for years, explaining that she had made financial sacrifices because she believed the family was still managing on his supposed ₦300,000 monthly income.
The man reportedly attempted to explain that his decision was motivated by plans to secure a better future for the family and that the money was intended to support their relocation and establish a new life abroad.
However, according to the account, his wife remained unhappy with the situation, leaving the man facing an uncertain future despite having more than ₦20 million in savings, an approved visa and plans to relocate.
