Cross Breaks Silence After Lagos Robbery, Declares: Nigeria Is Not Safe

Reality TV star Cross Okonkwo has raised concerns about security in Lagos after alleging that he was robbed by a street beggar while caught in traffic around the Ikate area of Lekki.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the former Big Brother Naija housemate made the allegation in a social media post, claiming that several beggars approached his vehicle while he was in traffic.

Cross said one of the individuals allegedly came close to his car, reached through the window and took an item before quickly running away.

The reality TV star said he attempted to pursue the alleged robber immediately after the incident but was unable to catch up with him because the individual had fled the scene.

Expressing his frustration, Cross questioned the presence of street beggars around the area and raised concerns about the safety of motorists and other residents.

He appealed to the Federal Government to take action, saying the incident had made him question the state of security in the country.

“Federal government, I just got robbed. All these beggars, they were in my window talking to me. I did not refuse the guy and he just ripped off something from my car and ran away,” Cross said.

He added: “Nigeria is not safe. Federal government, what kind of mistake are you guys doing allowing these guys on the street? This Lagos, I don’t understand why you guys are allowing these people to be on the street. This is unfair.”

The allegation has sparked discussions online about street crime, begging and security around busy areas of Lagos. Cross’s account remains his allegation of what occurred, and no independent confirmation of the incident or the identity of the alleged perpetrator was provided in the report.
